Looking for assistance

Post by citronvodka »

Hello -

I am thrilled to have discovered this site. I am new to learning about silver jewelry so please bear with me.

I have looked through the marks here on this site but there were so many that maybe I missed this one. It is on a pair of sterling silver clip back earrings.

It says STERLING and then under the mark there is the copyright symbol of the small letter C in a circle with the year 1991 right next to it. I suspect it is American because of the copyright symbol by the date. If anyone has any ideas as to the maker or country of origin I would greatly appreciate any help.

According to the USPTO records, that is a registered mark of CHRISTOPHER'S ENTERPRISES, INC. CORPORATION NEW MEXICO P. O. Box 25621 Albuquerque NEW MEXICO 87125. It was published for opposition in 1991 and registered in 1992. It was first used commerically in 1984 and is now dead.

Glad to see that one, I thought I knew most of the Southwest manufacturers, I'll have to add it to my research list.
Citron, in case you didn't know, the stone is Spiny Oyster Shell.

You are welcome citronvodka. Just going by your screen name I figured you knew what the stone was. I sure didn't, but fortunately ValkyrieVixen did.

I believe it is quite an exception when someone leaves their image posted this many years. I try to do the same myself. The ftp space at least for me so far is free, so why not.
