THE TATLER TROPHY
The Tatler Trophy, presented by 'The Tatler' magazine, was awarded at The International Boat Show races held at the Venice Lido in 1929. The trophy was the work of the Goldsmiths' and Silversmiths' Company of 112, Regent Street, London.

AN OMNIBUS IN SILVER
This model of an omnibus, made in silver by Mappin Bros. of Regent Street and Cheapside, has been presented by 2,000 gentlemen of the omnibus profession to Mr. Morris Abrahams as an appreciation of many kindnesses received. The driver is represented by Mr. Perry, who has driven an omnibus in London for fifty-seven years, and who may still be seen driving between Baker Street and Pimlico, while the popular collector to the Omnibus Men’s Superannuation Fund, Mr. J. Baker, took his stand as conductor.

A PICKWICK MATCHBOX
“Bil Stumps his mark”
A Dickens Match Box.—There is a great revival of interest in Charles Dickens just now, and there are a large number of people who love their Pickwick. In case some of these may like to possess the quaint match box which has just been presented to me—a replica of the famous “ Bil Stumps” stone—I reproduce it here. The match box is made in both silver and electro-plate by the Potosi Silver Company of Birmingham. It may be purchased at the establishments of Mappin and Webb in Oxford Street and Queen Victoria Street.

The above photograph depicts the handsome gift presented by the delegates to the Imperial Press Conference to Mr. Harry E. Brittain, originator and organiser of the conference. The design represents Britannia at the helm of the barque of Progress, with Mercury, emblematical of the press, at the prow. The barque is supported by four wings, representing the four quarters of the earth, upon a globe of the world, on which the British Empire is traced, the whole standing on a plinth, round which are engraved upon festoons of laurel the names of the dominions and colonies which were represented at the Imperial Press Conference in June last. The trophy is the work of the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, Ltd.

The Duchess of Sutherland, whose at home at the New Bond Street depot of her Cripples’ Guild was crowded with well-known people. The duchess’s guild is an organisation for training poor cripples in artistic handicrafts, and the specimens shown on the occasion of the at home were very fine examples of metalwork. The Duchess of Sutherland, as is of course well known, takes the greatest interest in the welfare of the poor and she is a prime mover in innumerable charity organisations.
