Suspicious Disappearance in Toronto
Toronto June 4:- On Saturday three young lads were playing on the Dufferin street wharf they found a coat and hat. They searched in the coat pockets and discovered a letter, which gave the name of Thomas H. Stonier. The lads carried the articles to No. 6 police station where the officer in charge looked up the directory and found that a man bearing the name of Stonier resided at 58 Stafford street. A constable was despatched that address and found that Mr. Stonier had not been home last night. Stonier is an engraver, and up to a year ago was employed in the Toronto Silver Plate Company, King street west, when he and several others were discharged owing to the dull times. Since that period he has been unable to get any employment, and it is supposed that in a fit of despondency be may have walked into the lake at Dufferin street wharf.
