Hallmark help on Howard Pyle plate

Hello!

So grateful for this forum -- it's a lifesaver!
Picked up a really unique plate with an engraving or (or by???) Howard Pyle, pirate illustrator, from a thrift store but for the life of me cannot figure out the hallmark on the back, where it's from, who made it, etc.
I've studied this site and haven't found it.
The plate is relatively heavy which makes me wonder if it's silver or silverplate?

It appears to be a crown with an inverted triangle-ish shape attached below. But there are strange markings within the crown part.

it is difficult to tell from the photograph, but it looks like pewter.
