Please help identify this hallmark & makers mark

Please help me identify the marks on this silver ladle. It is marked A.E. Warner- a strange sheild, D, and a head. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Ooh, that's special! The Baltimore Assay Office mark, date mark for 1818, the Head of Liberty mark.

Maker is Andrew Ellicott Warner. See: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.anc ... /53214.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and: http://www.925-1000.com/ax_WarnerAE.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Trev,
I was so excited to find out about this piece, I neglected to thank you for the 'welcome to the forum' and how quickly you replied!
Best,
Victoria
