Post by buckler »

London Gazette of 23 March 1774 reports Richard Dovey of 6, Craven Buildings has a patent for "Kings Metal", a gold substitute .

23 March 1764
Richard Dovey Craven Buildings Middlesex Goldsmith paid apprentice indenture duty for Joseph Wales.

There was a Richard DAVEY given in Grimwade as "only mark as smallworker, 26 September 1767 , Corner Silver Street " who might , just be the same man.

London Gazette 11475 records a Richard Dovey, Bucklemaker of Wolverhampton, as being in Stafford Goal for debt in 1774 who again may relate, perhaps his father.
