Silver Content For Bracelet Marked Only Silver

Post by gardenartus »

I have a filigree silver bracelet with gilt finish. A lot of the gilt has worn off especially on the interior. My question is does anyone know what country used only the word Silver and what amount of silver would have been used, is it as of Sterling quality?

Thank you for your time and consideration, I am stumped on this one.

China often used the word silver and that design is common among pieces I have seen from there. Not sure if it's 925/sterling so testing it would be best. This is likely older but newer Chinese pieces are known for being falsely marked.

Thank you very much. I thought it was Chinese but I can not confirm it anywhere.
