But is it really silver?

Post by macdafydd »

My parents in law have left a case of cutlery, which appears to be of German origin.

I have, however, been unable to identify any of the marks. Can anyone help?

What appears to be "10C" with the C reversed, is clearly "100" on other pieces. Furthermore, the rightmost mark is rather more clear on some other pieces, where it looks like a portal.

Any information will be appreciated.

Hello, this is plate. In Germany the '100' usually stands for the weight of the silver used in electroplating. As to the other marks - haven't got a clue. Sorry. Best wishes, Bahner
