Presumably this is the purity mark? It's on the lid and the side of the box:

The three marks are on the bottom:

Hello.

The maker's mark looks similar to one used by Francois M. Jourbert during the second half of the 18tth century.

French silver is not my area, so wait for others to confirm or dispute this.

Pat.

In my humble opinion you have a very nice box made as said before by
Francois Joubert, master 1749, the crowned capital "A" (Le poinçon de charge) for Paris and the capital crowned "B" the date letter (Le poinçon de Jurande) 1765/66. Jean Jacques Prevost was "farmer of the taxes".

I hope this helps!

I did a search and found that Joubert is regognized as one of the best Parisian goldsmiths during the reign of Louis XV.

I believe that your box is actually a dresser box of a toilet set.

My congratulations/JAKJO

Sorry. I totally forgot the fourth mark (poinçon de décharged). Could it be a head of a dog?

Sorry, poinçon de décharge is the correct term. The dog head is pictured on the right and I think that it looks like the mark on the lid.

Thank you so much. It's nice to discover you have a little treasure. I inherited this from my mother who had a thing for silver boxes. The mark on the lid is indeed a dog head - it's clearer on the body once you know what you are looking for. Very hard to take a picture of if, but I'll post one if I succeed.
