In my humble opinion you have a very nice box made as said before by
Francois Joubert, master 1749, the crowned capital "A" (Le poinçon de charge) for Paris and the capital crowned "B" the date letter (Le poinçon de Jurande) 1765/66. Jean Jacques Prevost was "farmer of the taxes".

I did a search and found that Joubert is regognized as one of the best Parisian goldsmiths during the reign of Louis XV.

Thank you so much. It's nice to discover you have a little treasure. I inherited this from my mother who had a thing for silver boxes. The mark on the lid is indeed a dog head - it's clearer on the body once you know what you are looking for. Very hard to take a picture of if, but I'll post one if I succeed.
