I believe it is from Scotland, though I can not make uot the marks well. They are often worn on tams and are set with cairgorns and other Scottish emblems.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Jim's correct, the Hallmarks are for Glasgow, 1949. It's a grouse's foot, a very popular subject for Scottish jewelry, but although assayed at Glasgow, it was in fact made in Birmingham by Ward Brothers.

Hey, thanks for your help!

Any thoughts on the stone and is it silver or silver plate?

Hi,

It's Sterling silver, 925/1000. As for the stone, I agree with Jim, it's cairngorm, a brown quartz found in Scotland.
