You stumped me with that women’s fashions of the 1920’s. In the Webster notes you have the patented veil fastener (butterfly clip) from 1895. Guess this stuff just goes in endless circles. And here’s the men’s fashion from 1919 which you posted before:
That one also came back only 101 years later. Not sure if all those surplus boxes of the masks turning up in thrift stores might be a good investment for the future of fashion.
BTW…many women were still occasionally sporting veils as late as the 1950’s and into the ‘60’s. But they were usually already incorporated into the front of the hat making it easy to flip up off the eyes. Now all they need is a ball cap and some sunblocker.
