Silver spoon Gebr. Friedländer

Post by Vantlicht »

Silver spoon from the Gebr. Friedländer. The 800 is clear, but what I do not recognize the star, owl and the 3 mark. Can somebody explain this to me?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The marks you mention are Polish, see:

https://www.925-1000.com/Fpoland_marks_1.html

The owl's head mark is called the Lombard mark and was punched on used items 1920-1963.

This post gives further details of the Lombard mark: viewtopic.php?t=18397

Hello, Friedlaender was just the retailer on this one, actual maker was Koch and Bergfeld from Bremen, their mark being the symbol just left of the 800. Regards, Bahner
