Hi, welcome to the forum,

Image
Script V (upside sown), Dutch duty mark for foreign/imported items, the V for the Dutch word ˜vreemd" which translate to foreign. The mark gives no guarantee of standard of fineness. It was intended for imported objects only, used 1906-1953.
Town mark of Utrecht, pseudo mark, perhaps applied by Begeer. See K. A. Citroen, Valse Zilvermerken in Nederland # 613
Begeer, mark of A.C.J. Begeer, registered in Amsterdam, 1916-1921, here used as a retailers mark.
Crowned B mark of A.C.J.(Anton Carel Joseph) Begeer, registered in Amsterdam.

Mark 830 to indicate silver fineness 830/1000, which is below the Dutch legal 2nd standard silver of 833/1000.
For dutch hallmarks see;https://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32028

Below other examples of these type of marks, seen in combination with Dutch duty mark V and (German or Belgian)830/1000, 800/000 fineness mark

In 1915 Anton Carel Joseph Begeer, registered in Amsterdam, occupation jeweler.
On 18-6-1927 he was registered in The Hague occupation jeweler.

Peter,

Thank you for your quick response on this. Makes sense. Heirloom from my parents. My Father was a jeweller, wheeling and dealing. Any idea where it might have been made ?

Regards

Philip
