Old wooden box with silver handle...

Post by bossgobbler »

I picked this up at an Amish Store in Missouri, USA and was just curious if anyone knew anything about the marks. I searched for a long time on your excellent web site but found no matches. Any help is appreciated, Thanks

It is swedish, city mark is Jönköping.
BW is Bengt Walquist 1811 to 1829 his wife continues business until 1830.
Somewhere there should be a yearcode letter+number.

I have looked all over the box and can't find any other markings. Thank you Hose_dk so much for the information! I'll try to find out if the box itself is also Swedish.
