Dutch pseudo marks?

Post by idarf »

Hi!
Could these be dutch pseudo marks?
I have not found any similar silver plate or silver marks yet.
Thank you for any information that you might have.
Regards,
idarf

Hi idarf,

No, in my opinion they are not Dutch pseudo marks. I think perhaps Swiss. It looks good quality, the pseudo marks may have been used by Pochon Frères & Co, for their silverware that went abroad but I have no proof of that. Perhaps not a bad idea to have the scale tested for silver content.

The user Nata37 posted a question in this forum on Fri Apr 21, 2023 3:10 am.
See viewtopic.php?p=210953

I have pasted the two sets of marks into one picture below, with the marks from Nata37 on the left and the stamps on my plate on the right:

It seems that the Bern city mark (or pseudo-mark) on Nata37's piece and mine are identical, down to the smallest details visible.
