Chinese tea set

Post by Ubaranda »

Hello!
I'm guessing the mark LC & Co belongs to Leeching known in Canton? Hong Kong and Shanghai in the second half of the 19th century. I'm interested in what the hieroglyphs on the other marks mean.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ubaranda,

I believe the 'LC & Co.' mark is thought not to belong to Leeching, but to Lain Chang & Co. of Shanghai.

Hi Trev!
You are absolutely right - this mark belongs to Lain Chang & Co.. It's my mistake...
