About Amsterdam's Silvermarks

Post by lancmo92 »

Hello everyone

I saw this photo on an external website. But I can't see the pictures in the forum articles. I want to know what the leftmost symbol in this picture represents?

Thank you very much, everyone

Hi, which external website you are talking about?
Far left, the oval with tulip; maker's mark for Isaac de Vries, born in Amsterdam 1700, the son of silversmith Michiel de Vries & Sarah Keysers, master 1732, died 1779

hello

Thank you very much for your reply. Is this a Dutch manufacturer?

I saw it while searching for the Dutch silver label on 'bing', but I couldn't see the picture when I came in. So it cannot correspond to the text introduced.

Actually, I am looking for a silver label for my pendant. I guess it was from the 18th century. Its silver label is very small, although the shape looks very similar to this flower under a magnifying glass. But it's too blurry.

Thank you.

Isaac de Vries, Dutch silversmith, born and raised, working in Amsterdam, maker's mark a tulip in oval. He made small silver crockery/ dinnerware sets, hammered silver teapots, silver milk jugs, sugar bowls, and engraved silver tobacco boxes, silver serving utensils; silver cast spoons.
Do not believe it to be the maker of your silver fob seal.

Thank you very much for your reply.

It seems that you don't think he did it.

Perhaps I should keep searching again.

Thank you.
