Denmark Hallmark ID Question

Post by Cynnamon »

Greetings:
I've been asked to identify this Danish sterling silver flatware. The inquiring person told me she believes it was purchase at the Georg Jensen shop. I can't find anything that would prove it. I probably could if I were able to read the name of the manufacturer, but that alludes me also. Please share your learned eye with me.
Thanks, Cyn

Thank you so much Aguest. I had to chuckle when I read where it was sold.

Hi,
The signature on the left stands for famous Danish architect and designer Ole Jørgen Bartholin Hagen
(born June 22nd 1913 in Lellinge, died March 7th 1984).
Decorative works
The cutlery series Tulip, for A. Michelsen's silversmiths
Dekorative arbejder
Bestikserien Tulip, for A. Michelsens sølvsmedje
This is the last A.Michelsen Christmas spoon made by Georg Jensen in 2009. The tradition lasted for 100 years, people subscribed for Christmas spoons and eagerly waited for new design by the most prominent artists. Spoons were produced even during WWI and WWII. Then the world has changed and the tradition faded out following the decline of our civilization.
Regards and happy St. Patrick's Day
