Very long marrow spoon

Post by JanGroen »

Good day
I found this very nice marrow spoon today. The total length is 22.5cm and the scoop is 12cm. The one top corner of handle had a rough deep damage area that I sanded and polished a little. I don't see any signs of a base metal and believe it could be solid. I cant figure out the makers mark. Could it be colonial?

Hi Jannie,

It's not silver I'm afraid.

The maker is John Nowill & Son of Sheffield.

Thank you. It was a bit confusing and I also first thought the marks looked like plating marks. It is still a super weird object
