I have a set of French table silver, marked SAVARY, PARIS, first standard minerva, a rabbit or hare in a diamond lozenge with S above the rabbit and J below.
Can anybody give me more information about the maker please? I have searched the web, but cannot find any information. I think that they were made in the first quarter of 20th c.
The set comprises of 6 coasters, 12 finger? bowls and 6 different sized plates, about 11 kg total weight.
please see the following pictures of examples at my photobucket site :-

Any information on this maker would be gratefully received.

Hello There, first of all it is not a J but a Y. I could not find much but here is what I could gather. The company started as SAVARY, then it became SAVARY et Fils and then it was taken over by RAVINET D'ENFERT who used to be a leading company in silver and plated silver production which won several international awards during the art deco period. This company ceased activity in 1984. Their address used to be 83 rue du Temple in Paris. Regarding the date, I agree with you that it is beginning of 20th century. and probably before 1920 because all companies acquired by RAVINET D'ENFERT hapened around 1920- So I guess anytime between 1890 and 1820,
Hope this could help
