Messrs. Mappin and Webb, of Oxford-street the well-known manufacturing silversmiths, have a most unique and attractive display of challenge cups and trophies manufactured by them to special order. Amongst others we note the celebrated "Elsenham'' cup presented to the Shire Horse Society by Walter Gilbey, Esq. This firm also exhibit a very complete collection of miniatures of celebrated horses modelled in solid silver, not to mention almost every variety of medals and medallions struck for the Hackney Horse Show, Hunters' Improvement Society, and Shire Horse Society. Besides numerous works of art appertaining especially to Agricultural subjects, their exhibits of testimonial plate in general calls for more than a passing inspection including, as it does, many rare examples of silversmiths' art. In fact this enterprising firm continue amply to sustain the high reputation which they have made for this branch of art work, not only under their own name, but also In that of Stephen Smith and Son, of which well-known house they are also the proprietors.
