Hi I have a small sugar shovel with mercury gilding. I can't make head or tail of the marks. From the shape of the shovel and the general look of the marks I think it might be Swedish or Finnish. Can anyone help me please? The finial is flat unlike British silver.
Thanks :)
Unknown marks on sugar shovel possibly Swedish?

Perhaps there was a temporary problem with the photohost? But the images seem OK now.

OK, now I can see the pictures. Your spoon is not Swedish but Finnish. It is made by Adolf Fredrik Granfelt (AFG) 1823 in the town of Porvoo/Borgå on the southern coast of Finland.
