i found these circa 1940s handmade sterling earrings and have not been able to identify the mark. the estate had some other early rebajes pieces and i thought these might also be by him, but the marks do not seem to be right. unfortunately the marks are partially obscured on both earrings.
both are stamped STERLING.
one is marked with what appears to be an F, the other has a more "complete" version of the mark and it appears to be a squared off A on top of another A or F.
both are also stamped REC..., REG..., or REO... but this mark is incomplete on both pieces
they are not the pinnacle of craftsmanship--the design work is relatively simple, just cutout squares with hammered edges and stamped designs, and the attachment of the earring findings is a little crude.
i am hoping somebody might recognize the marks or style.
any thoughts?
thanks!
