Help with london import marks and maker.

Post by needy »

Could this makers mark be for Thomas Goslee 1790 or Thomas Gibbord I have trouble with imported items. Any info would help.

Neither - it's probably Thomas Glaser, a known importer. Note that the date is 1890, not 1790, and that Thomas Glaser is not the maker, just the importer. This is why the mark is more correctly called a sponsor's mark.

Thank you very much. I have trouble with sponsers marks. Especially when the lion rampant is not in regular shaped marks, not round. Thank you again.
