Fine Bowling and Basket Ball Trophies Made by R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co.

With the bowling and basket ball season prominent in the field of athletics at this time, the interesting folder sent out by R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co., Wallingford, Conn., which illustrates a number of different types of bowling and basket ball trophies is of particular interest. The folder contains four pages of various kinds of trophies and one page is devoted to illustrating plaques which may also be used as trophies. A sufficient choice in both size and prices is given for individual, team or tournament prizes. All Wallace trophies illustrated are made of the highest grade of white metal (Britannia) which by a special manufacturing process is made extremely hard and durable. Each artticle is heavily plated with pure silver. The trophies illustrated in this folder are only a small part of the line made to cover every sport and competition. A letter which is inclosed with the folder calls attention to the fact that there are good profits to be made during the usually quiet days directly following the first of the year by furnishing trophy cups and other trophies for bowling and basket ball teams throughout the country, because of the popularity of these sports during the winter months. The letter urges jewelers to go after this business by getting in touch with the owners of bowling alleys and managers of basket ball teams.

Through an oversight, W. J. Leavenworth, Wallingford, Conn., who was elected recently to the presidency of the First National Bank of that city, was mentioned as being treasurer of Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co., instead of the R. Wallace & Sons’ Mfg. Co., Wallingford.

The R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co., silversmiths, Wallingford, Mass., have just issued two attractive booklets, one featuring the articles in “Antique” and the other, the “Renaissance” pattern in silver. Both booklets are fine specimens of the printer’s art, being copiously illustrated with the various pieces made in hollow ware as well as flatware, The books, particularly the one on “Renaissance,” contain some of the finest illustrations that have ever been produced in a catalog. Both booklets should be in the hands of the jewelry and silverware buyers of the country.
