Identifying watch maker, country and date

Postby itspcb » Sat Sep 03, 2005 6:58 am

Newbie to this forum, difficult to find right category, so may be mis posted.
Marks do not seem to follow anything I can find, but again I have limited experience.
Looking for any information from the back of this watch
Thanks in advance.

Hello, these hallmarks show that it is a foreign sterling silver item which has been legally imported in the UK and assayed by the London assay office in 1917. The GS hallmark must be the importer but I cannot trace it. As it is foreign silver, there should other hallmarks from the origin country on this watch. Hope this helped, at least it gives you a date. Best Regards. Myriam

If I am correct, these marks are English import marks.
