Help with date on Peruzzi SS comb.

I have the comb with orig. box. The comb is hallmarked 800 and what looks like 242 FI. It is very worn so not positive and looks to be double stamped. The box has a foil label with Peruzzi Bros. Jewel Shop, Florence 43 Borgo S. Jacopo. Anyone know the possible date? Thanks.

Well, the shape of the maker's mark was changed in 1964, so it's no later than that, and even though the registry number is worn, Florence numbers 240-249 were all registered in 1952, so it's no earlier than that. So that narrows it down to twelve years: 1952-1964.

Fratelli Peruzzi are upscale retailers in Florence, founded in 1860 and (I think) still in business.
