Bizantine vigil lamps, Transylvanian 18th century

Post by Dumitru VANCA »

Hello my friends,
Does anyone can identify this byzantine vigil lamp. I am a priest and they are in my church since 1768 (the inscription can be read). Church is in Transylvania (under Habsburg dominationa at that time).
I took these pictures.

Hi,
I embedded your images (few members of the forum would click on links).
Town mark is very difficult to decipher. Sharper image is needed. Or you can try to compare it with coat of arms of Romainan towns within Austrian territories at the time.
