J.L. Mark on Austrian silver basket

Post by Mjl »

I have a silver basket with the hallmarks of a Toucan and 800, which I believe indicates Vienna. The third mark looks like J.L . The only Austrian silversmith I've identifies is Josef Laun (1919 - 1924), but I have no pictures of his mark. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi,
Josef Laun had initials in a rectangle.

Looking in the Antique Jewellery University site, I've also found Josef Lachner or Johan Liebl, but they both are possibly in the pre-1922 period, which doesn't match the Toucan? Although another site gives their activities up to 1924. Any thoughts?

Thanks Krisztian! Do you have any more info on Josef Lhotka. Nothing comes up on a Google search.

Sorry, I wrote badly, it is my mistake.
It is Joseph Lahner.
