I recently acquired this silver goblet which I think could be very old, there are 3 marks that I can make out:
An EW at the top (does not match any EW British mark I can find)
A flower or star on the other side of the design
That same flower or star repeated at the base of the goblet
There is an engraved crest with "nec timore nec favore" on it -- but I can't seem to find any matches to that with a quick Google search
I believe this is probably English provincial -- but all my reference books are in storage and after a few hours of Googling, I'm stumped
Thoughts?
Old? Goblet -- EW and Star/Flower?
Re: Old? Goblet -- EW and Star/Flower?
Hi,
It is Austria - Hungary Empire mark, so called Diana`s head (what looks like flower). Used 1872 - 1922.
Search for letter indicating the assay office .

Thanks -- does indeed appear to be that -- certainly has been deformed/worn over the years!
