Good evening
I have this sold silver owl figurine with the Zimbabwe Sable mark aswel as 958 stamped on it. It is
45 x 20mm and weigh 78g. Could this be an old model by Patrick Mavros? It does seems like his type of work. Not sure if other companies in Zimbabwe make these type of figurines.

Solid Owl Figurine
Re: Solid Owl Figurine
Hi,
Patrick Mavros opened his London shop in 2004.I suppose he registered his PM mark in an oval with London assay office the same year (right).
Prior to that date, he used PM marks of different form (left), probably not even struck his mark beside Rhodesia state mark.
One can only speculate whether he used his initials in early years.
The fineness is also unusual, but understandable; higher silver concentration in the alloy allows better detailed casting.
I think it is his owl; who else makes animal silver sculptures of this quality in Harare ?
Regards

Hi Jannie,
Yes, I think Patrick Mavros is the likely candidate.
