Sterling Belt - Mystery Mark - Amber

This is a larger men's size belt.
It's on a small belt (I assume it's from the store, and then you'd put it on your own belt)

I assume that the large amber piece is original to it.
The amber piece has a really unusual mark, and then a series of smaller marks i can't make out.
the larger mark is hard to deciper, since i'm not sure which side is up.
there are no marks i could find on the buckle itself, unless it's under where the leather is.

Does this look familiar to anyone?

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Can you post a close-up of the small set of marks? From what I can see they appear to be Polish hallmarks:

If I'm correct, this would fit in nicely as there is a large amber industry in that part of the world.

Trev.

Hi,
Trev is right; looks like Gdansk 875 Polish mark, used since 1986.
See here:

(Woman`s head, capital letter G and 875 on the left).
Anyway, larger images of the marks are needed for confirmation.
Regards

I tried a few lenses to try to capture those marks, i don't know why they're so small, the back panel is relatively massive :-)

Modern Polish marks are not well documented. Many private silversmiths emerged after the fall of communist regime.
At least we know it was made in Gdansk.
