French Spoon - any identification appreciated

Post by boomerga »

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this forum and looking forward to learning more about some of the silver pieces my wife and I possess. I would really appreciate some help with a spoon that we believe was made during the French Revolution due to the "de Beneir" mark on the spoon. I have included some pictures at the links below. Please let me know if you can't access these links. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe this mark is for Porto (Portugal), in use 1853-1862.

See here: http://hallmarkwiki.com/?ShowHallmark=12093

Additionally, please see a similar mark on a snuff box that is advertised as being from Porto c1853-1862.

MgArgent!

Thanks for the information and embedding the images. In the future, I will not use google photos. Seems they restrict embedding.

Thanks!!

Hi,
Those are not French marks; I opt for Porto, Portugal (Letter P in heart shaped outline and crown on the top 1853-1862).

Good morning, boomergar, can the letters be distinguished from the contrast with an oval frame?

Buenos días, boomergar se pueden distirguir las letras del contraste con marco ovalado?
