NAZI survivor collection. Please help identify

Postby Edl2016 » Tue Oct 20, 2020 5:46 am

Hi there.
Thank you to all those who put their time into helping people like I hope you are about to assist me.
I have some silver here I think is from Europe. I believe the collector of this silver must of picked it up on her way to Australia after her time spent in the nzai camps.
I'm trying to find a date that this may be from and hopefully someone who can identify the hallmarks. I have all the passports and identity cards of this person's adventure and struggles and I'm trying to find where to place it in her journey. For all I know though, it could be well before that time.

Hi,
I embedded one of your images with the mark; it is Poland silver mark 3 standard for .800 silver fineness, used after 1920.
There are two different maker`s initials in flatware set I cannot recognize.

The person survived Nazi rule but I doubt the story of concentration camp survivor who returned home to pick up intact family silver and then emigrated to Australia while Red Army was already in Poland. On the other hand, you have passport with dates.
Regards

Thank you. What I am trying to work out is where it is from so that I can match it to countries she lived in from the 40s until she got to Australia. I have some amazing identity cards like AUSWITCH #17 Dated 30june 1944 which blows myind havjng that date stamped in her card. The thought process is if it's from after the war then it's stuff she collected on her travels as a momentum for the cou tries she went to afterwards. If it's dated before the war then maybe it was stolen to use as currency to get by.
I'm blown away by what I found and than you for what you have told me. I notice the WEP on some of them if very clear while others very worn. I can't find WEP anywhere online.

Anyway thanks for your help and sorry I didn't know to embed images
