The info I could glean off the net was that A.L. deSouza LDA mark has been found on pieces with Lisboa assay marks both before and after 1937, and with added maker marks unidentified in notes. (I kidnapped some images supporting one assay identification.) What I could not confirm were other claims of assays done allegedly in Oporto, but if true then this retailer is either in both places or being supplied from both. For your maker, the mark should contain a device with a single letter generally based on the first name of the silversmith. Whatever you can note might help. [In 20 pages of entries for Portugal on this site, there was nothing of help for this one.]
