Assistance with Sterling Basket Maker's Mark

I am trying to identify the unknown maker of a sterling Art Nouveau bride’s basket. I have searched all my reference materials and have not had any luck. The 925 stamp is clear and I think the other mark is either n97 or r.97. The mystery maker’s mark appears to be pictorial rather than a rubbed initial but I am not 100% sure. Hoping someone might recognize something - thanks in advance for any help.

Hi - this piece is not American, nor Art Nouveau to my eye - it appears to read 'Π97', have seen similar marks on fairly recent Greek production, but perhaps others will take a look...

Thank you Cheryl. I wasn't sure if it was American and appreciate the input. I bought it in England from a dealer who specializes in antique silver - not sure if that will make a difference at all in solving the mystery. The one thing I am 100% sure of is that it is not English! :) Hoping someone will know the maker or country of manufacture. Are there some countries that typically hallmark pieces on the interior rather than underneath? Thanks again!
