I bought this at an estate sale. Its 13.75" wide and very heavy. Its engraved on back 3 4 13, which I think might be April 3, 1813. It has a partial city hallmark. I think its crossed keys or axes with crown on top. Maker's mark looks like MA or some combination or WV. Does anyone recognize the maker or city mark? It should be around 800 silver correct?
wow thank you both. I've never seen Italian silver before the late 19th century with the more typical hallmarks. can you explain how the numbers correspond to the weight? it's 40 regular ounces.
