Hello everyone,

I am looking for information about this silver pitcher stamped TOCH. My understanding is that the firm operated in both the late 19th and early 20th century in Austria-Hungary and subsequently Austria and Hungary. I think the mark indicates 1922-1937 Hungary, but I have seen other marks that appear similar that would indicate a late 19th century date. I’m also fuzzy on details about the maker, other than an advertisement from Toch in another part of the forum.

Size is approximately 5.5 inches tall, 10.68 troy ounces.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
There is letter P in front of Diana`s head for Budapest (Pest) Assay Office and and maker's initials not matching Toch, who could be a retailer in Vienna and the pitcher actually made in Hungary `s capital.
Hopefully,Krisztian will read this post and clarify if there was Toch in Budapest, too and also for how long Austria /Hungary Diana continued in Hungary after WWI.
