Hi,

Very nice mustard pot 18th century Belgian city guild marks for Namur or Namen and year letter 1792. The maker's mark AIB, one of the marks used by; Joseph-Antoine Bodart, active in Namur last quarter 18th century-....
Congratulations silver of Namur is rare and not often seen.

Found this controversy in Rosenberg:
``Jahresbuchschtaben wurden in Namur nicht verwendet. ``
(Date letters were not used in Namur).
In regard of this CROOY, L & F. is quoted (page 93 – 95).
L'ORFÈVRERIE RELIGIEUSE EN BELGIQUE DEPUIS LA FIN DU XV SIÈCLE JUSQU'A LA RÉVOLUTION FRANÇAISE.

Namur/Namen used date letters.
Rosenberg is a good free reference book but indeed outdated.
Reference; L'orfèvrerie en Belgique /Silver in Belgium 1500-1800 by Piet Baudouin, Pierre Colman and Dorsan Goethals. Herewith an image of page 186 examples of guild hallmarks date marks. See number 81 Namur;
