Hi everybody!

I'm back with a new research on the hallmarks of a silver sterling bowl.

Thanks to the TARDY book, i find the "92" hallmark as a russian XVIIIth silver mark; same thing in the Postnikova-Loseva.

But when I tried to find the maker's name, nothing in those litteratures especialy in the Postnikova.

That's why, again, I need your help friends!

Please find bellow pictures of the bowl and the best pics I took of the hallmarks.

One more thing: judging from the style of the bowl, I'm really doubting it can be from the XVIII, don't you?

:-))))) wrong country my good man, not Russia but more likely from Greece. The marks are not either Russian. Read the name in the mark i.e. PAPADOPOULOS. It doesn't sound very Russian or does it? It is from the 20th century.

I'm also doubtful whether it is silver at all and it is not an old piece. Greece has no silver mark standards whatsoever. I would guess German silver possibly plated or not?

Damned! I would not think about Greece! My lack of langage skills made me think about cyrillic letters! And combinated with "92", which is a russian old standard... I also agree that the style of the bowl is definitely different from 18th russian objects!

To conclude, many thanks to you, I'm really impressed! ;-)

You are welcome. Nonetheless your anticipation of the Cyrill alphabet is not wrong. Many parts of the Greek alphabet contain remains from the Cyrillic letters.
