Second Bowl, 18th Century Swiss?

Postby doveplace » Thu Jan 09, 2014 4:54 pm

Hi, in my previous post on the thread, I showed two bowls and received a quick identification of the maker and age of the first. The second bowl is below and does not have all of the fancy hallmarks. I am stuck since it is marked .800 but has a bird mark I am not familiar with and does not look like the swiss 800 wood grouse. The first bowl was 18th century swiss and while this one does not have the same hallmarks, it looks very similar in shape and style. Thanks for any and all help!

This is the mark of Arthur Collet & Cie. of Geneva, founded in 1874 and still in existence today (as A. Collet S.A.). I would date this piece to the first quarter of the 20th century.

Hope this helps!
