Egg shaped silver cups, help needed to id.

Postby niceguy1 » Sun Jul 28, 2013 12:14 am

HELLO

I have these 2 egg shaped small silver cups.

On the rim there is a makers mark which says the letter F and one more letter which is perhaps the letter A or R, then there is the hallmark which is similar to old Austrian hallmarks & a tiny oblong indentation which is also repeated on the bottom.

any luck to identify these? they measure 2 1/2 inches tall.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Hello!
I think, you have 2 egg-cups from the austro-ungarian empire, from the Austrian half before 1867. I think, the third character is 6, so it's maybe from the sixties. If you can identify the letter in the hallmark, or in the oblong, that show us the assay office. Then could be easier to identify the maker. (maybe an F, or a B? not so clear..)
I hope, this helps..
Best regards!
Krisztián
