Tobacco case;gilded interior, translucent enamel and plique-à -jour, hand engraved décor. Plique-à -jour: temporary backing is dissolved after firing by acid or rubbed away. The technique is far more challenging than cloisonné due to high failure rate.
Austrian mark after 1922. Maker`s mark `` FJ``. There is no dot between F and J.Please, be so kind to tell.
Thanks for looking.

Mind my asking where do you see plique-à -jour enamel? The light blue enameled part looks like guilloché enamel to me, but? A plique-à -jour enameled object looks like a lead glass window, those you see in churches, light passes it. Kindly show a good close-up photo of the midpart. Do you mean that it is plique-à -jour enamel? Sorry, just asking...

So I did and now I buy it, but that could not be seen in the first picture (translucent), therefore my wondering. However, the surrounding is guilloché enameling technique. I'm sorry but I have no idea who the maker is. Austrian marks are not my cup of tea (enamel is). I'm sure somebody will pop in and tell you the name.
Thanks and have a nice day

A post that's worth a bump.
Any thoughts on the maker?
