What is this stamp on silver dishes

Postby Acapulco » Mon Mar 19, 2012 3:34 pm

Hello

I have a little mystery I have two bonbon dishes, a proper pair not just from the same moulds but I am struggling on the stamp. Initially I thought it was the head of Minerve but now I am beginning to seriously doubt myself. Is there a stamp that looks like minerve but is not. The stamp next to it is FR in an oblong.

Can anyone kindly help out please.

Many thanks I think must have been looking too hard.

Is Austrian silver sought after?

Hi,

Never forget that an head of Minerve is in a cutaway square :-) and is accompanied with initials in a diamonds for silversmith.

The maker's mark seems to be that of Franz Rumwolf of Vienna.
