Left hand shown mark is the Austrian silver fineness mark for 800/1,000 fineness on little objects; numerical
3 is there fore the signification — not the cartouche itself, as usual by the bigger ones. Capital letter
A stand there fore Vienna assay office. This mark was in use from 1872 until 1922.

Predecessor was founded 1893 by Jakob Hersch Kurzer; who has got work permission in 1894. His first workshop was 1896 until 1900 settled in the V. District of Vienna, Griesgasse 38; and from 1903 on registered in the VI. Viennese District, Mollardgasse 33.
His successor factory of Kurzer & Wolf remained 1908 until 1922 in the VI. District of Vienna, Mollardgasse 33. Owner of Kurzer & Wolf were Jakob Hersch Kurzer and Gustav Wolf (from 1908 until 1922). In 1908 they have had 45 employees — and in 1922 they have had 30 (reason: I. World War).
Their specialities in Gold and Silver were: Cigarette cases and Tobacco tins, Cassettes and Cigarette lighter.
1914 their export markets were: Italy, Romania, Serbia, Germany, Egypt, Bulgaria. 1922 Balkan area, Hungary, Poland, Bohemia, Yugoslavia.
