Additional mark (?) on Gely Freres pitcher

Thanks to you, I was able to identify that this pitcher was made by Gely Freres. What is puzzling me is an additional mark inside the pitcher. It seems to me, also for reason of visual thickness of the material, that your pitcher is made from pewter alloy?

Mark in question looks like to be a real mark - and not a sign on the inner surface, where on the outer surface the handle is fixed.
