Need Help with Mystery Mark

Postby ronenros » Thu Apr 23, 2009 6:53 pm

Hi Everyone,

I found this old spoon recently. It's about 12" long and marked with two stamps - what looks like a tree over the letter E and maker's marks that look like IL.
It came from a Dutch family, but it doesn't appear to match any Dutch marks. Maybe German?

Pyr (pinecone) = Augsburg, Germany (see here: German City Marks A-D; though note that Augsburg date letters started in 1734, not 1763 as stated)
Date letter E = 1741-1743
Maker IL = Johan Ludwig Laminit, Master 1726

Hope this helps!
