Help with date, Makers Mark and Country of this Cup

Hi
I recently found this prize cup?. But I can't find anything on the makers mark, the date and the country of make (I supouse it from portugal). Can anyone hlep with the maker, country, an approx date?

Hi Micaela,

Welcome to the Forum.

You are correct it is Portugal. It was assayed at Lisbon between 1886 and 1938, I see no reason why the date 1907, or a little bit earlier, would not be correct.
The silver is of the 1st standard 916/1000

Hi Trev, thank you for their prompt answer. Is this piece a prize cup? I suppose that for that reason he has the date 1907 and had been used as prize in that year.

I would describe it as a two handled cup and cover, but it could well have been used as a prize cup, it looks like a fine piece.

is the finial a replacement or severely damaged? It does not appear to match the quality of all below it.

I would guess the finial is original, but damaged, since it seems to repeat a theme found in the body of the piece.
