They range in size from 13" to about 9" for the two bouillon ladles. They are made from heavy-gauge coin silver and date to sometime after 1872. I wonder if anyone can help me identify the marks of some of the following makers and towns?
The large soup ladle has two very minute marks. The Diana head shows a '3' for the 800/1000 standard and what I think is an 'F' which would make it a piece from Lvov. Even more difficult is the maker's mark: Two letters, the first is probably an 'L' , the latter an 'H' or 'P', 'R', or even 'G' or another 'L'.
The two intermediate ladles with the deep monograms have the same marks. The Diana head shows the third standard and 'P' for the city of Pest. What does the wheat mark signify?
Finally, we have the small ladle without a monogram. It's another ladle of the third standard and made in Pest, but the other mark is very difficult to determine. I'm guessing a beehive...
If any of you happens to be able to assist in identifying these marks I should be very grateful!
All the best
