A receipt from Thomas Aston & Son of 12, Regent Place, Caroline Street, Birmingham for mourning jewellery supplied to Mrs. Abraham Taylor:

16 quid each;that was a fortune at the time.
2376 pounds today (each).
But black enamel and three diamonds....possibly it would cost about the same today. No diamond carats given, though.That was always good business with diamonds - people mislead with ^^stones^^.
